Dr Sihra is a leading specialist in allergies and respiratory medicine who treats both children and adults. He is based at the Colchester General Hospital and Ramsay Oaks Hospital, Colchester. His areas of expertise include allergytesting, asthma, wheezing, anaphylaxis, allergic urticaria and child and adult respiratory diseases.
He has been an expert in allergy and respiratory medicine since 1999 with a particular expertise in treating adults with allergies. He is also a consultant paediatrician with sub-specialty accreditation in paediatric respiratory medicine.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from Southampton University in 1984 and then passed his Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP) exam in 1989. In 2009, he was awarded Doctor of Medicine from Southampton University.
Between 1993 to 1997, he conducted research into mechanisms of allergic asthma and the use of novel immunomodulatory drugs in severe asthma at Royal Brompton National Heart and Lung Institute. He also conducted research at the Department of Allergy & Clinical Immunology at the Imperial College, London which resulted in having several papers published. Dr Sihra has worked at several London teaching hospitals, including the Royal Brompton, St George’s, St Thomas’, Guy’s and King’s College Hospital and is the author or co-author of several published papers.​
